Dr Emma Llanto is a pediatrician with special training in Adolescent Medicine. She graduated from the Cebu Institute of Medicine, had her pediatric residency at Chong Hua Hospital and her fellowship training at the Philippine General Hospital. She got further training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney.
She was the past president of the Society of Adolescent Medicine of the Philippines. At present she heads the Section of Adolescent Medicine of the Dept. of Pediatrics at the PGH. She is involved in the Teen Mom Program and the Transition Programs for Teens with Chronic Kidney Disease and for Youth with Developmental Disabilities. She is the coordinator for the Silahis ng Kalusugan School for the Chronically Ill which is located at the PGH.
Dr Llanto has three children. She lost her eldest, Ariel to cancer at around Christmas time almost 10 years ago. He was only 23 years old and was a writer for a local newspaper in Cebu.
